What is the difference between the "wild card" and ranking in baseball?
Why some teams winners "Wild card" of their division, but not its position in the regular season?
The "Wild Card" is the team in each league with the best record that is not a division winner. It was created by MLB so they can have one more playoff series and earn a little more and unnecessarily lengthen the season post in which games have the possibility of being snowed out.
